Our National rally will take place from the 7th to the 9th of October and will be based in Nicosia, and, as is already known, the Cyprus Rally it is the only event to feature in two FIA championships; tenth and final round of the European Rally Championship (ERC) and the fifth round of the Middle-East Rally Championship (MERC).
Proceedings will begin on Friday morning , October 7, with the reconnaissance runs but also the qualifying for the start positions which will take place on the 4.48-kilometer stage next to Ayios Sozomenos in Nicosia. On the afternoon of the same day, the Limassol beachfront will host the Ceremonial Start with the cars leaving the ramp and heading straight towards the action since the first two stages of this year's rally will be night stages! The first one is from Stavrovouni to Klavdia (11.35km) with the first car setting off at 19:28. The second stage will begin at 20:06 from Petrofani to Kelia (21.49km). After completing SS2 the cars and crews will head for the Service Park back in Nicosia where they will rest for the night before Saturday’s action.
Saturday will include seven Special Stages with the spectacular Tseri stage (14.27km) starting at 07:55 in the morning. Up next is the fourth stage from Kotsiatis to Analiontas (14.66km) with the first car starting at 08:33. Lythrodontas-Vavatsinia and Lagia-Kalavasos are the fifth and sixth stage of the rally. Lythrodontas, the largest stage of the rally, is 22 kilometers long and will start at 9:16, while Lagia (10.43km) will start at 10:14.The cars will then return to the Service Park in order to prepare for the afternoon loop. The afternoon loop will include a repeat of the Tseri stage (at 12:17), Lythrodontas-Vavatsinia (at 13:00) and Lagia-Kalavasos (at 13:58). The final Saturday stage will be none other than the CNP ASFALISTIKI Super Special Stage. This will be the third year in a row that the divided capital’s roads will be connected for this stage. The first car is expected to start at 16:16 in the afternoon, and after the stage all cars and crews will head back to the Service Park to end the day.
On Sunday, the rally will have four special stages, with a total length of 67.42km.The first two will be a repeat of the Friday stages. These are the Stavrovouni-Klavdia stage to begin at 08:20 and the Petrofani-Kelia stage which starts at 08:58. The rally will conclude with two special stages, the Love Cyprus Golden Stage which returns to our National rally in order to offer a total of 60 thousand euro as a prize to the winners. The Love Cyprus Golden Stage 1 will have a total length of 20.08km and will begin at 11:36 with Love Cyprus Golden Stage 2 (14.50km) starting at 12:29. The total time from both of the Love Cyprus Golden Stage will declare the winners. Following that, the crews will then head to Molos in Limassol where the Ceremonial Finish will bring this three-day battle to an end at 15:00.
