Health & Safety at Work | 6th Lecture: Fire Safety

CNP ASFALISTIKI, the Labor Inspection Department of the Ministry of Labor & Social Insurance and the Cyprus Health & Safety Association, held the 6th lecture, as part of the relevant information series, this time on the topic: "Fire Protection". The event took place on November 13, 2024, at CNP CYPRUS Head Offices in Nicosia and was attended by professionals from the field of Health & Safety.

The lecture addressed the new challenges in the field, such as organic materials, photovoltaics and batteries from new materials. Also, reference was made to fire protection regulations, active / passive fire protection measures, research methods and statistics concerning Cyprus in comparison to other European countries. Insurance coverage in relation to fire safety was presented, as well as good and bad practices and the actual cost associated with fire incidents. The speakers were Mr. Andreas Kameris, MSc, Associate Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers, and Mr. Christos Christou, Health, Safety and Physical Security Officer of CNP CYPRUS INSURANCE HOLDINGS.

A discussion followed and the participants exchanged views regarding the subject.
